So has it occurred to anyone the level of security breach that this whole event illustrates and the implications of this tech? Nathan being his usual self, it is totally understandable he'd just let it go, but every other command personnel within The Alliance would have been absolutely furious at the end with the realization that it was all a sim and that several things about The Alliance and Aurora have been revealed to a foreign power. Like holy crap, putting aside the fact that the alliance effectively could have (if not done so already) laid bare all of their secrets and intel to an un-allied nation, but if the actual wrong people get their hands on this, such as the Jung or Dusahn... It would be an absolute disaster in itself.
With this little "test" alone, they have revealed the Aurora ship layouts, power levels/utilization, combat tactics, ordinance capacities, personnel identifications and their postings, and probably more. To a nation that is not an ally to the Alliance, every single one of these tidbits of information can be exploited in some manner.
So basically, there should probably be consequences to this event. If Siltek for whatever reason at some point backtracks and ultimately withdraws from joining The Alliance, I think Nathan and The Alliance have a somewhat significant problem on their hands that they need to address.
Now, on the flip-side, this tech will be an excellent intelligence gathering tool that the alliance can utilize. Need some deep-cover identity? no problem. Just disappear someone, and use the VR tech to gain all the knowledge you need to take over their life. It can even be fed live to operatives for almost immediate solutions to problems that arise. You just keep the captive in the Sim in perpetuity and place whatever scenario the operative is encountering in real-life, into the Sim. Interrogations of captured combatants? forget about it. Problem solved.
