I like your thinking, but I think that the whole I got to push this button or we go boom bit has been floating around for years.
What was that movie where a cowboy had to kick a bomb off a plane, and then rode it all the way to the ground?
Or Lost... that had the lock in the ground with the code that needed to be entered or the world would end.
