Damn I timed this badly, I'm half way though re-re-re-reading Ep4... The Takaran's have just taken the two missile silo's on Corinari!!! 9.5 books in 3 days? with work? guess I'm skipping to book 13.

In Ryk's Ticker we trust.

I think I have read this series at least 5 times, I find new nuances in it each read through, went through it all right after the last book, and finished about 2 weeks ago, so I am ready and looking forward to Friday/Saturday

Just posted what I am reading to fill the time in the other forum. there were some good suggestions in that thread, most of which I had already found.

Awesome. I love the timing of the ticker. I get the perfect present from Ryk on my birthday, episode 14:) I can't wait to read it.

Is anyone here a fan of IRC? Kind of tempted to start a channel and have a live discussion during the launch of the book.

Getting there!
Is it a relativistic issue or the ticker seconds go faster?

Some sort of inverse square law between the actual time passed and the perception of said time with respect to remaining time to book launch... 🙂

Same here.... that doesn't look good for the which ever Explorer Class ship it is... The suspense is killing me... I wanna read it and see what happens.

Looking at the cover, I'm not too concerned. We've seen the ships get hammered as bad or worse before. It looks like they are intercepting rounds from the Jung ship that are aimed toward the planet. I wonder if this is a liberation effort or if it's the Jung invading an allied planet again.

Just saw the cover, too. Is this the top or the bottom side of the ship taking fire? Nathan's reflex would probably be to yaw the ship so the more fortified bottom side would take it.

We'll know soon anyway. The release of the book will be on Saturday 8 a.m. my time. Perfect timing :-).

Could be a number of things:

A re-imagining of what happened in Tau Ceti? Just before the scout ship was captured.

The Jung opening fire on a planet that they are about to loose.
The Jung attacking Allied OR liberated world.
A Computer simulation of a battle with the Jung (because that battleship is way to shiny!!! Where is the grit that builds up on a ship that spends month at warp between planets???)

I think that this Jung vessel is a cruiser however as as the Aurora/Celestia is way to big in the background & the Jung ships shape is different to the previous covers.

Stefan: It's the top of the ship getting beat on. You can tell by the domes for radiation dissipation.

Four Islands: Pretty sure that's a battleship. Check the concept art section.

If that's a battleship then the scale of the pic seems to be off. Maybe it's a class we've not seen yet.
