I was wondering if there were any plans to release all of part 1 in one bound book as a special edition? Because that is something I would be interested in
Actually, yes. But it probably won't happen until late 2016. I'm having all of the episodes reproofed for the errors that still slipped through, and I want to get a lot more artwork and technical drawings completed to add to the book itself. I want to do one for each part.
Just to tell you how hard proofing can be. Many years ago, an author told a group of us how he, his wife, and something like five other people were looking for errors in his book. Every single one of them missed the fact that his name on the title page was misspelled. Booom!
Exactly! The human brain is so good at seeing what should be there instead of exactly what is there. I've worked with wonderful proofreaders and editors, all of them well educated, highly experienced, and quite professional, yet I have yet to see a manuscript with absolutely no errors.
All we can do is give it our best effort.
Are you planning on changing the initial Yamaro / Aurora conversation that somehow happened at close range before the Yamaro warped into the system on the far side of the gas giant that was 1 Light minute away last we had seen? Because the Aurora should have got a burst transmission from the Yamaro when/after it appeared on the Scope. Or someone on the ground on Corinair should have made the call or something!!! drives me mad every time I read it!!!
Yes you said before that you prefer to have a good story then a completely 100% on point story... but that one just bugs me.
You could have the Yamaro arrive on the far side of the Gas Giant, and have 2 minute silences between response for more Jess input... that would make more since for the story too. We love Jess.
Well, if you are ever looking for another set of eyes ... I'm pretty critical.
By the way ... I am really enjoying Frontier Saga ... AND CAN'T GET THEM fast enough. I finished #14 overnight ... sigh!
If Part one is going to be released with changes/additions will the audiobooks be updated as well?
The changes will only be typos and such, like the incorrect version of 'too/two/to', etc... You would not notice these in the audio books.
Nothing will be rewritten. I thought about doing so, since (hopefully) my writing has improved over time, but decided against it for two reasons. One, the audiobooks would not be updated to match. (I have no control over them for 7 years each.) And second, some people like seeing the development of the writer's abilities over time.
Also, I have never been one for changing my answers on a test. I always second guess incorrectly.
What about continuity errors? As an example, in The Expanse, Abby states that she has a husband and one child, but in subsequent episodes she has a husband and TWO children. And in Head of the Dragon I believe, Loki explains to Prince Casimir that he was on Haven as a debtor paying off his loans from flight school, but in Resistance he tells Major Waddell on Tanna that he wasn't there as a debtor and that the job on Haven as Josh's copilot was the only paying job he could find to pay his loans.
Wait... I think you may have already answered my question in your post.
