It would make sense to keep it to the Aurora, the Tanna, and a few cobra's, adding the Battleship would add a lot of firepower to the fleet but between the resource drain of a Battleship with no Port and the power that a Battleship could give the Rebels would both drag the story away from where it needs to be. A fight between Nathan and Lord Farquaad.
I think it would be easier for Nash to convince most of his crew to join the Rebellion then it would for Gil with his ship. I figure that Gil would be able to convince a few of his officers and crew to join him in taking possession of a few cobra's. I can imagine a few cobra crews defecting as well to be honest...
I hope to see Gil, with say 8 cobra's, arriving at a rendezvous point with the Tanna, the Aurora and the fleet with say 16 more cobra's in hot pursuit, only for them to peal off at seeing the Aurora, Tanna and all their Jump missiles & fighters arrayed against them. Nathan hailing them would be a nice touch. After a brief conference of the cobra leaders on the Aurora, defectors defect, and those who decide to return to the Alliance do so with an info dump.
Now all the Rebels need is a few more combat shuttles - but at least that gives them something to do in the next book besides look for food for all of their crews! Of course adding additional units from the PC would be welcome, but I imagine Palee's Stockpile of ships is running dry these days.

I don't see the Seiiki being involved with Cobra gunship strikes. The Seiiki is more like the Normandy SR-1 or SR-2 from the Mass Effect trilogy or the Tempest from Mass Effect Andromeda. It's a "hero ship", the personal transport of Na-Tan, like how the Aurora is the hero ship of the Frontiers Saga.
Meanwhile the Aurora has become the Battlestar Galactica with it's Reapers and Super Eagles. The dwindling number of Takaran fighters will probably end up staying with the Glendanon to provide fleet defense.
It has also been hint and Mention about the Takaran Batleship which was in construction at the end of Episode 15 and from a comment made in i think episode 18 is still in the takaran ship yards. If the Resistance could some how steal that from the under the nose of the Dushan, the only problem could be it would probable be in the same state of readiness as the Aurora in Episode 1. so they would have to find some where to out fitted it for war. althrough it probale has already been upgrade with ZPMs and a jump drive.
That would be pretty sweet.
It might also work as the big bad dread ship of the series that hunts down the rebel fleet... it might have significantly greater jump range then the current 30LY standard
I cant remember if the Yamaro asteroid or the YYamaro itself was destroyed. But if it hasn't then we have another base of operations and another shop fornthe resistance.
As far as I remember it was built into an asteroid, and that asteroid was built into a shuttle - jump shuttle refurbishment facility. I imagine it went on to become a space port for the conversion of larger shuttles and freighters into jump ships. It would be the place (or one of the places) where ships now get their 1000 jump service. As such if it hasn't already fallen into the hands of the Dushan as a key Jump ship facility.
Does anyone remember the first paragraph of chapter 6 from Celestia? Those Jung ships jumped in! Thank god I'm re reading.
when you travel at FTL speeds, you arrive before light of how you got there gets there. from the point of view of people in Sol, those ships arrived with no warning. I'd call that jumping in too. Its not the same thing, but when you have sub-light ships, it might as well be.
Sometimes in these books there are mistakes that just make it though to the final edition, thats what happens when you rush to put out a new part ever 2-3 months. from the overall story to date, the Jung in the Sol/Jung areas don't have Jump drives, they did for a brief period take possession of a few jump falcons, but those were shot down. They also captured a jump scout ship, but again that was destroyed. The Dushan have jump drives, and I at least assume that the Jung ships in the SOL Sector in Part 2 were Dushan ships and not Jung Ships. so even if as suspected they have jump drives its the Dushan not the Jung who have then Jump drives.
But Yeah, Celestia was a good book!
Cannot wait for Balance
Fan fic
It was Morning Briefing at the Tai Ceti Cobra Training School. With the Recruits being assigned there duties for the coming week, when Marines enter the Main Hall's doors from all sides and secure them. The Commander at the Podium steps back from the podium and begins to walk to the nearest Marine when that door opens and in comes Gil and a number of his officers. Gil nods to the Commander and walks past him to the podium. He looks out over the gathered of recruits, some of whom had stood up and signals them to sit.
"I'm Gil Roselle. This morning at 08.00 I formally tendered my resignation from the Alliance. I did this for one reason. The Alliance I joined is not the same as the Alliance of today. Corinair and Takara and the whole Cluster helped liberate Earth, the Core and fringe words of the Sol Sector from the Jung. And the day we hear about these worlds failing to Jung Battle group the Alliance did nothing. When we gained reliable intel that the Jung forces in the Cluster were an outcast sect of the Jung independent of the Jung we had warred with, the Alliance ignored it and launched KKV strikes at Jung Industrial Targets. This Jung Sect, these Dushan, they have Jump drives.
"Some Captains in the Alliance suspect that the timing of these Jung incursions into the Sol Sector, and the invasion of our allies in the Cluster is too convenient. That these incursions stopped. disappeared immediately following the KKV strikes on the Jung military. It stinks."
"What ever the Jung do next it will be years before Earth and our Allies here are threatened. The Cluster needs help now. The Aurora has been in the Cluster for the last two weeks, joining the Ghatazack and their Allies, and feeding back intel to Earth and the Alliance. What of that did you hear? What were you told of the Aurora? They left the Alliance to fulfill the obligations of the Alliance. Against orders the Aurora went to the aid of our recent saviors.
"I will not take another of the few large capital ships the Alliance has left, but with god as my wittiness I will take as many Cobra's as my men can safely fly, and as many of you as will join me. We will leave immediately, with the ships we have secured. we will rendezvous with the Aurora and the Rebel fleet in 7 days at these coordinates on screen behind me at 12.00 Sol Standard. If you don't leave with us now, meet us there then.
"Nathan Scott is leading this rebellion." Turning to his former first officer he nods. "Play it"
On the screen behind him a bearded man appears, he begins to speak and when he finishes the screen splits on one side the bearded man, on the other Nathan Scott. below them the rendezvous coordinates still linger. No one speaks for a the space of a long breath. then someone noticed that Gil and his Officers, the Marines had already left, with that one person walks to and out though the door, then a few more. A tall recruit walks to the screen, touches the image of bearded man, then heads for the other door, the room empty's most through the door on the left, but those who touched the image, though the door on the right.
Finally the commander turns off the monitor, and looks out at the few recruits still sitting in there seats for a long moment. "Dismissed" and walks out the door. The one on the right. those last few recruits stand look at each other and then follow him.
---
7 days Later When Gil arrives at the rendezvous coordinates he lead six Cobra's filled with his loyal officers and crews, and five more of the recruits who joined his little rebellion. They were early it seemed. He ordered his little fleet to form up in three formations of five and settled in to wait.
Half an hour later two muted jump flash brought everyone to attention. Reapers, The Aurora's. One jumped back to the Aurora, the other jumped the few light seconds distance between it and the Cobra's.
"Reaper 1 to Cobra 1, Glad to see you guys! The Fleet is two minutes out, maintain course and speed"
"Cobra 1 to Reaper 1, understood, maintaining course and speed" switching lines Gil called "This is Cobra 1, All Cobra's hold course and speed"
"Multiple Jump Flashes" Ensign Milly on Sensors called.
"That was quick" Stated Gil "what do we have?"
"Cobra's sir, twelve of them, they are jumping again, port bow"
"Cobra 1 to all Cobra's, Hold fire. Stand ready to jump!" "Cobra 1, Roselle, to Cobra party to my Port, identify"
"Roselle, Commander Sert of Tai Ceti Cobra Command, leading a flight of twelve. Where do you need us sir?"
"Outstanding Commander Sert, Match course and speed, Fleet inbound in-"
"Sir. Multiple Jump Flashes. To Starboard, 2 light seconds out. Its the Aurora"...
"Aurora to Cobra 1, Gil, you old bastard, you are a sight for sore eyes"
"Cobra 1 to Aurora, Nathan... Jesus... Jesus you look even younger then the last time I saw you!"

I just though that I would share that because last time I wrote fan fic for this series before the release of the next book, the next book release before I posted it (Annoying but also Brilliant)
And unfortunately it didn't work...
Very nice work!
Balance can mean a number of things.
To The Rebels, it could mean getting sufficient forces on side to be able to take the fight to the Dusahn.
To The Dusahn, it could mean having a force of resistance against their occupation.
To the Sol Sector it could mean repaying their death to the PC by sending more forces that way. It could also mean spreading the power in the Sol Sector around the sector, not just in Earth and a few of the Core worlds. It could also mean that the Sol Sector has the forces available to balance the threat of the Jung.
To the Jung it could mean that they have been hurt like they had hurt other worlds in their expansion, or maybe that because they were hit, that they want to balance that scales.
It could also mean that someone gives the Jung the jump drive to balance the scales of power, either for the Jung to legitimize the Dusahn, or Sol for their misdirected attack (KKVs)
any of which I think would lead to a really cool story!!!
I just spent the last few minutes reading way to much into the art for Balance... Are those raptors attacking the Cobra base? because Eagles have a small set of rear wings that are missing from those fighters on the Cover... and I have to say, the accuracy is leaving something to be desired... unless they are firing at ground targets that are not readily visible in the art... I don't know. I need to get my reading fix...
getting twitchy!!! need summer reading now.... Thanks! 🙂
< 2 Weeks to go!!!

Then its June... Heres to the grand old adventure! Of burning BBQ's and burning skin!
I wonder when the book comes out if we should try and have our conversations on the Facebook page, with spoiler warning of course? That way the page gets more traffic and people can see the excitement around the books? I find forums like this an easier way to discuss stuff but just thinking of ways to help Ryk get the books out there...
