Although many of us are surely dealing with the let down by the lack of escalators and other mass pedestrian conveyances in Episode 1 here is the speculation thread on Ep 2.
Do Jess and Conner hook up?
Does Vlad and company get booted from the alliance?
Will there be any refence to "Emergency" the show from the 70s?
What Happen To Navarro?
- We know he is stranded on the surface of Darvano.
- Possibilities
- Capture put in a Politically POW Camp
- Capture put to death to suppress populaces
- Safe and in hiding gathering what remains of his crew to form resistance cell
What Happen To the Inman (Takaran Battleship half built in Episode 15) It's not clear it was one of the ships in destroy defending Takara, It says there were 2 Cruisers 2 Frigates 1 destroyer and 1 Unknown type ship. This ship is said to be less maneuverable then the destroyer but was take out by a dozen rail guns as well as plasma weapons, which to me doesn't seem to be enough to take out a ZPM powered Battleship.
Is the Protector Class Warship a Fully ZPM Power Ship Designed and built with this in Mind? Would love to see some specs on her.
Darvano is a star - so Navarro is not there / not there anymore, I believe that Navarro was on a different world either in the cluster or further out, Because if it was on the surface of Corinair then the Avendalh would have tried to contact/rescue him.
It is possible that the Takaran Fleet was larger then just 6 ships. The Takaran System had 3 inhabitable planets as far as I can remember so the Inman and possibly other Takaran ships could have been orbiting those worlds or on a deeper patrol of Takaran controlled / allied worlds. Its even possible that the Inman could be in route to Earth to discuss the Takaran People returning to the the Alliance. we just don't know yet. But that's going to be a fun introduction to the Jung.
As for the Protector Class I get the impression its bigger then the Defender Class but mostly following a similar design ascetic.
I really would like to know what warship numbers are out there but Ryk has been vague and that's probably the best way to surprise us in the episodes ahead...
I think that Rescue will be completely miss named! The Jung will not be in any mood to Rescue anyone - they will be in full on "The attacked us so we have to throw our toys out of the pram" mode - and I think the attacks on Sol are Lord Dushnan's forces trying to learn Alliance tactics while simultaneously leading the main jung forces and the alliance into a MAD situation so that he can declare himself king of the leftovers. It's a good plan - he's going to loose a lot of ships...
(Yeah and I guess Connor and gang busting Dumar and Co / Clone etc off Corinair)
As far as I remember, Navarro was on a planet in the Darvano system, most likely Corinair. And, of course, the Avendahl couldn't contact and/or rescue him because she suffered a surprise attack which led to her destruction. So, yes, Navarro is still there somewhere.
It's also interesting that all the main characters that became heroes during the first 15 episodes are back in action. Nathan, in his new persona as Captain Tuplo, together with Josh and Marcus. Jess, Lucius and the Ghatazhak. Deliza and Loki. Dumar and the rest of Deliza's team, including Yanni. And they're already collaborating to fight the Jung once again.
Then, closer to Earth, there's still President Scott with Miri, as well as Galiardi - the latter of which is more trouble than he is worth. We still have the Aurora with Captain Cam and Vlad on board. Roselle is also still around, which I consider a very good thing. (Can't he get in charge of the EDF? I think he'd be perfect for the job, to be honest.)
It really is a pity that Tug is gone for good - or has Deliza tried to clone him, too? It probably wouldn't work, since she hasn't been able to preserve his memories. However, this gives me another thing to consider. I think it was in "Rings of Haven" that Tug told Nathan that he had been married more than once, and that he is much older than he looks. Which makes me wonder - did he maybe have some more kids than just the two daughters we know about?
The rescue the title refers to will, of course, have to be the rescue of Dumar, Yanni and everyone else hiding in his resort. They'll probably even rescue Navarro. Maybe even the Jung infrastructure / industry will be saved, although I highly doubt that. Maybe the Jung homeworld, but the first few KKVs are gone.
Come to think of it, even the Ghatazhak might need rescuing, considering that the Jung probably don't want a group of enemy super soldiers in their neighborhood. It's probably a good thing that Telles decides to prepare for evacuation.
I feel like the fleets in the Sol and takaran systems are going to be a rogue faction. Maybe they were given the jump drive by Dubnyk with the intention of starting a war between the real Jung and the alliance to try and thin them both out and then they come to wipe out whatever pieces are left. I just can't see a way the alliance can survive against the full might of the Jung with a jump drive unless some miracle comes from the data ark.
I really want to see what new ships are like now that technologies from the Data Arch have been trickling out! It should have made some impact already
I wonder if a rewrite took place as there seems to be a delay on Episode 2. And as I have just finished another reread of ep1 well....
I am also getting the gist the Joshe may be genetically engineered and that could be the reason for the skills and high metabolic rate.
Time for Ryk to weigh in again. The natives are getting restless!
We don't know a whole pile about Josh's Parentage - we can only assume that based on the fact his mom was sold into the Haven indentured workforce and the fact that generally it is middle income families who take out the type of loans that are most likely to result in indentured servitude (case and point: Aurora Comm person / I'm bad with names - she got genes to allow her to more easily pick up languages - and her parent/s and herself could not afford to pay back the loans to pay for that)
Josh is likely natural birth / with possible enhanced reflexes and/or possible is just borderline twitchy
Yes, a big rewrite...for the better.
It will come out this month. Preorder in about a week, and release before the end of the month.
To the Betterment of the story!!!
Part 2 is called "Rouge Castes", so I believe that the jump drive technology was most likely a gift from captain Dubnyk, to one of the break away castes in exchange for him being a leader, or at the very least a "noble". He seems to be one of those characters that refuses to die.
I know another user that suggested that he may be trying to start a war between the jung and the alliance, we have already seen him stir the pot on tanna during the evac, so it's not a far stretch to think he'd do it again, now that I'm thinking about it he and Captain Jung sure do have a few similar qualities.
In regards to the setting, I really hope to see more new systems, possibly even sectors in future episodes/parts. I know my favorite part of any Sci Fi has been ship construction, so I really hope we get to see more, even if it's just a lot more cobras.
it's past August when will Rescue be out waiting........lol
Release pegged for the end of September - Pre-order in the next few days
