I cant believe nobody is talking about the elephant in the room....Namely Tilly and his little praying spell. Just like the Chief engineer from Capt. Nash's ship..

This is what I am thinking on that little portion.
1. Tilly had a nanite seizure. Once they were around the Jung Battleship, is when he seized up.
2. With his seizure, he was actually transmitting data from the micro jump kkv's
3. Not all of the JKKV's were targeted at the Battle Platform. At least 1 was sent off in a different set of coordinates for Jung retrieval. And when instructed to send the self destruct code by Nathan, he "missed" that 1. so now the Jung have or will have a micro jump engine and the plans on how to make them.

Now for other ideas predictions:
1. Jess gets into Telles training groups. But prior to that, they have a fling. Jess gets depressed/upset about something and decides to go off on him again and they throw down which leads to more recreational activities...they Telles assigns her to the training program. (think rangers and seals stuff now days).

2. Capt. Nash Runs a rough program and those gunships become more of a heavy bomber than a true gunship. He also learns from history of the Wolf Packs start taking on lone Jung patrols. Also they send some back to PC to help stabilize things in that area.

3. Josh and Loki become the go to flight instructors for the super-falcon and by extension super eagle programs. THose boys know how to fly, now its time to learn and lead.

4. The Alliance finds a way to combat the Jung nanites and start to seed the liberated planets/systems with self replicating jung nanites killers.

5. Deliza uses her tech skills but gets drawn back to the PC and takes control of her House and reclaims Ruling authority for the empire. They also find a) more old version ships to send to Alliance. Mothball cruiser, carriers, destroyers would kick ass in Sol B) More of the Ghatazack that were hidden away and that they are still loyal to TUG who was not killed.

6. As more ships are built/poor into Sol. a solid defense is set up and further expansion of the cleared zone is done. In that time, they find either BV01/BV02 or wreckage from them. (what would I think be ideal is finding both of them, alive and well but out of fuel and the crews live and kicking on a planet of some sort.

I found it frustrating that it was left as a lose end without comment from any of the characters, but if it leads to a bigger plot like you suggest then that would be interesting. Instead we got Nathan going on holidays, Roselle's head would be exploding!

In that time, they find either BV01/BV02 or wreckage from them.

I can't remember what their story was, did they go missing without a trace?

I really like how no one commented on the ground warfare of Kohara at the end of Ep14. I guess we were all used to the ghatazack kicking ass and taking names, that the idea of them β€œloosing” an engagement didn’t figure into our synopsis…
I think that we all need to take a minute an consider what the Ghatazack will do going forward, as they really don’t seem to like loosing…
That Ground battle though.

Telles answer would probably be something along the lines of heavy quads from orbit, and doing what no one else can πŸ˜€

β€œThat can’t be?” Lieutenant Tillardi declared in disbelief"

I'm not so sure about Tilly having a 'Jung Moment' I certainly didn't read it as that. I thought he froze. His first really huge battle wIth heaps riding on his new invention & it failed to work as advertised.

I wonder how long it'll be before a Jung representative shows up and offers aid to the allied worlds. Given that we now know that only a portion of the Jung empire has been involved in the invasion/destruction of worlds, I think it likely that eventually given all the Alliance victories that someone high in the Jung empire might wish to stem the loss of life and resources before the Alliance rolls over the Jung entirely.

At the end when Nathan was talking to Marcus about the "her" getting on him and Nathan says that "she is just doing her job." I think Jess is now the his XO and that would follow. Mr.Willard may be getting a frigate and they are short of line officers so Nash may just be pressed into service. Honestly, Gerard and his buddies would do better than her anyway in the covert ops dept.

Capt Poc could be given the other frigate and command of the squadron/division.

BV01/BV02 just disappeared with all hands. No real back story on those ships or crews. Finding some clue or getting resolution on their fates would be good.

If BVO1 / BV02 Were Found, they would need major overall, and I don't thick the Kurazra Dock would be big enough for them so they maybe the could use the capture Product Facility in the Tau Ceti System but until the are is clear I think it's still a rick to do so as the Jung could appear and nuke , bombard that facility in short order.

As the first Battle orientated ships it strikes me as odd that the EDF went with something as big as a battleship immediately. Frigates, destroyers and Cruisers would make more sense. They would be smaller but more modular, cheaper and faster to build. The ship builders and ship officers would gain a wealth of experience with them before moving onto something bigger like the defenders. What I am saying is that the EDF would have been less likely to have lost as much capabilities so quickly if they had built smaller first.

From what they knew of the Jung utilising mixed fleets of battleship Cruisers and Frigates, then having the tactical ability to put smaller more manuverable ships on the Frigates would be a good

As for fighting ships, time to design jump specific ones. But that may be in series 2.

Jump specific design will take a while to properly define. All ship designs have pro's and cons. How a ship is used can bring out its good points how a ships is used can protect its weak points even the best ships can be taken out... including by uninformed producers of a show I shall not name. Firefly. Damn.

I'd love to see the Defender Class make a return. Or at least plans for them.

I just got finished. Very good setup for the final book. Su-per Eagles, shields, Su-per Falcons that can take out a frigate in 2 passes, Mark IV and Mark V cannons, gun ships bristling with weapons. I'm thinking episode 15 is going to involve finding the Jung home world. I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed with the Ghatazack <sp>. They seem to be losing their edge. Discussing what they should try while in a battle? Seriously.?.? Or so many of them missing targets or getting taken out in cross fires. Telles does man up at the end and stand up to Jess but I've kind of expected more from them as a spec ops group.

Eh.. I don't know if the Ghatazhak are losing their edge, per se. More likely - this is a scenario they were never programmed for. They are designed for maximum force, with no concern about collateral damage, and they were always fighting inferior foes. Now they are being tasked with using minimum force, minimum collateral damage, and they are up against an organized infantry - and they are usually outnumbered 5 or 10 to 1. It's a big transition from life in Takaran space. I think, like the falcons, they haven't yet been used properly and new strategies will be devised to increase their effectiveness and lifespan in liberation strategies.

What about intel?
Battles / wars have been won based on which side had better intel. A classic example is Midway in WW II.
Captn. Roselle is now in command of a captured Jung battleship. How much of the main computer memory was intact? How much can the alliance learn from it?
The intel from Alpha Centauri indicates that the Jung chain of command is home world > high speed com drone > battle platforms > com drone > battle ships > local com drones > cruisers, frigates, and ground forces. The chain going up is the reverse. Given the number of battle platforms that the alliance has destroyed. Have any of the high speed "home world" com drones been recovered?

It was so nice to finally dive into this Universe again.
Really enjoyed the background on Naralena and Volon, much more than ground fighting scenes (Which where quite good as well though).

I would have totally been ok with the ramming of Battleship and the destruction of the Aurora.
At the moment when I read that Rik let the Crew of the Aurora try to ram the enemy, I 100% thought they would do it.
Was a near heart stopping moment.
Maybe in Ep 15. Than They can build a new one for Part 2.

Also felt like like sometimes Rik would be talking indirectly to people of this forum.
At least a bit πŸ™‚
Nope ... the Avendal stays in the Pentaurus Cluster.
Yep ... here are the JKKV as ordered.

Cool Idea regarding the Super Falcon.
Not as good as a design as the Drop shaped form of the attack fighters in Star Carrier by Ian Douglas, but sounds smart to go towards a space combat focused design.

Though, it reminded me that Nash would be dead, if not for the capabilities of an Harrier to land almost everywhere.
So, hope that the classic one does not get totally lost within the Arsenal of the Alliance.

Still think that there could be a hidden Jung Base on Mars or the Moon for Episode 15 πŸ˜‰
Considering that Earth was a Type 2 Civilisation before the Plague.
There should be some left that they might have been able to re-activate and spy upon Earth.

---

Honestly, Gerard and his buddies would do better than her anyway in the covert ops dept.

Yes. Indeed. Nash is a bit to chatty for that ... as seen in Ep 13.
Telles should have given her almost a bit of a stronger dressing down, but was a good start at that.

Roselle is now in command of a captured Jung battleship. How much of the main computer memory was intact? How much can the alliance learn from it?

Very good thinking.
There also must have been officers that kept personal logs within their cabins.
That might also give a lot away.

Given that the Karuzara’s days of jumping are over, I fully expect to see a gigantic ZPED and shields installed. Two reasons for this. 1) It IS a vulnerable target. Without jump it could easily be taken via the thinner layers of crust.
2) The ZPED would prevent a boarding team from jumping away with a drive when they are within range of the asteroid. By putting several large ZPEDs on board, they could prevent that and power some crazy powerful shields.

Also very good Idea.
From Part 1 to Part 2 they could probably build it out from an asteroid to an entirely artificial space station.
