Ok, I finished it yesterday and have mulled things over and reread a few bits.

I thnk the book is great, one of the better episodes.

My thought,
Capt Nash is not dead, its hard to kill a Nash. The ship was rotating, I hope Eckerd got out ok.

All I've gotta say is:

Sweet Baby Jeebus Crank, Ryk! Been reading a lot of George R.R. Martin lately, have we?

I was reading the posts and was about to mention... CPT Nash did NOT die, at least it didn't read as he did, book 14. Scout 2 finds Battleship crippled. Nash self destructs the ship in or close to the ship. Was worried also about jump drive also, but remembered that NASH IS'NT dead (I hope).

The book was really good, but had one or two little niggly bits that bothered some people and we the forum crowd feel oblidged to rant on and on about them!!!

and so:

It sounded like 4 pods ejected and Nash was last into the pods (5th person?) Eckert & wellsy and at least 2 others get into the pods first.

Jess did over talk with both the perv she stole credits from and the peeper, but she was "in character" for all the Nash body count stuff. (I think that it is safe to say that the peeper was activated when Perv was attacked, and the attacker spoke english.)

Corinarian nanites run out of power in a week. Jung nanites seem to persist for months?

We have not seen Jung ships extend they're shields in quite a while I believe they did in one of the earlier battles, so I am not surprised that it wasn't expected. I'm not sure I like how they were able to do it while apparently turning a battleship in low orbit 90+ degrees in low orbit. Turning a big ship would require a big effort and a wide arc yet after 5 minutes the battleship had come about to a perfect intercept? Ok then.

Casmir set up a civil war with the expectation of dieing, so that the people of Takara would rise up against the Nobles? Guess that would work, but it will fuck over the alliance.
Takaran scientists are not going to be working on the next Jung buster for a while.
With civil war in Takara, other stars will hold they're forces close in case of spill over. I imagine that we will now have to wait for Part 2 for relief from the PC.

Re-read some of Casmir's dinner conversions with his daughter and Yanni.
They have been completely thru the data ark.
Which is or soon will be going back to earth along with Deliza and Yanni, who know where the good bits are.
Something is there, that will be a game changer. Dumar will ask the right questions and the team of Abby, Deliza and Yanni will come thru.

I would not assume that Deliza is going to earth anytime soon. She has a rebellion to lead. She is a scientist at the core so will work in what ever is next or get it done.

I too think Captain Nash is not dead. Hiding maybe but not dead. How he uses little sis for inspiration and becomes an embedded agent? Snagging a copy of the BC data cores would be a coup. The data core concept is an interesting concept. We do not have data cores per say. We have ginormous hard drives with lots of data but do not call those cores.

Combat nanites. I have read of that concept in other SF. Here, initial goal will be clear out the Jung ones. OR OR OR Take over their functions and give Jun false data.

Doctor Galloway needs to urgently build small detector that knows the difference between Corinari nanites and Jung ones.

Apparently, not all Corinari nanites die in a week because Jessica had them a long time after treatment. Maybe they have a maintenance mode.

A sample of the Jung Nanites needs to travel to Corinar via com drone with top top priority message attached to it. Work on them needs to happen immediately. Also, Doctor Galloway should not know the intricacies of how the nanites work. That is the purview of an engineer, not a doctor.

Via Jessica, the Alliance learns to watch for that brief zoned out pause and this causes lots of problems. Some people zone out without Jung broadcasts.

Speaking of com drones. They do need to modify them so they can take smaller urgent packages. A copy of the data core could travel that way too

Yep, one form of epileptic seizures (absence seizure). But that's probably not all there is. 😉

Since a Nash is said to be hard to kill, I think that Captain Robert Nash isn't quite dead yet. And, even though the Jung ship with the captured Scout is on its way to Jungworld, Nathan did take note of the Jung ship's course, so he probably intends to go after it after making sure their invasion of which-system-was-it will succeed. That's why he decided to bomb the targets given to him by Commander Telles first. Thanks to the jump drive, he can still go after the enemy and the captured scout afterwards. After all, Jung ships only make 20 light years per year. (Plus, didn't Nathan send Josh and Loki after the Jung to track them?)

Jessica, however, is going home with lots of important intel. And she has company - some people who actually gathered said intel and might have lots more. People who know how to scan someone for nanites and figure out whose nanites they are. So, the alliance will soon know about the Jung's nanite attack and develop countermeasures. (Talking about the Jung nanites, I think I figured out why Dr. Galloway's nanite patients infested with Jung nanites don't seem to segregate (significantly) more of the nanite-specific minerals than usual: It's because the Jung nanites use the materials to self-replicate.)

Jessica also has some former Jung soldiers in her company. If the alliance is lucky, they're from the Jung homeworld, although I doubt it. However, they might still have an idea in which general direction the Jung homeworld can be found.

How did the Jung pick which worlds to conquer? Because it seems like they conquered the fringe worlds first then worked they're way inward toward Earth. Is that a viable way to conquer the Sol Sector? Well it worked. The Jung actually held all of the Sol Sector. (Then the Aurora came back from the PC)

I know the Cores were copied, (but they only know a small portion of whats on it.) Yanni and Deliza are going to Darvano, and I imagine they will stay there. A copy of the cores being sent to Tanna would make sense.

I think that Darvano needs a ship yard, for Cruiser sized ships.

Jess's mission to Tui Ceti? was an overall success, Mostly because of the resistance, to be fair though. She just talked and added to her kill count. Besides the Ships, and the Ghatazach, Jess is the leading the body count.

Nanites need to get flushed out of the body, so it could take a lot of time to find they're way into the toilet...

Ok. Was half asleep during my last post. Cpt Nash isn't dead. Or if he is, Josh and Loki catch up, jump under the sheild of the BS and blow up The scout ship.

How about after the 20 light year zone is cleared out. Take about 2 or 3 months, jump back to the PC, knock some heads in, and be back in time for the Celestia to be Ready to go back on the offensive. If scout ship is not destroyed, then the alliance can NOT stop. Full bore, kill all the Jung ships and home planets that they can find. No mercy. If they dont....game over man, game over.

Celestia refit rebuild is gonna make it so badass that I think a quart of the way into 14 it's gonna be al about the Celestia and here taking over the campaign, while the Aurora has her refit, which should take as long.
We know that the Celestia anti-mater cores were removed to replace the ones the Aurora lost so I expect this means she's getting ZPM's, they have at least got to give her a triple redundant Jump array, and beef up her armament, last thing would be, Shields. and a bigger version of the jump drives the shuttles use.

It was the other scout ships were sent to track the Battleship, and I really hope that we destroy the scout ship/battleship. With 75 books, we can afford to keep the jump drive from the Jung a bit longer.

Celestia refit is going to be sweet! but I think that the real game changer is the inclusion of the Attack ships being built.

I think that we need to see more of the PC worlds standing up to the Jung threat.

It all depends on how long the Ta'Akan Civil War is going to last, either it's going to end in time for the Avendalh to turn up in the Sol sector in Epi 15 to save the day. Or it's going to be Something that lasts until series 2 in which case it's going to be of a build up race between Daravano and Takar, Daravano would have the Data Ark Technology, Takar would might still have their shipyards.

I ment Volon, Pale, Haven etc, bringing ships to Earth, I would understand Darvano holding a few ships back due to the fact that they had in the very recent past had hostile relations with Takara.

I thought that the Avendalh destroyed the main Takaran ship yards. so that both Takara and Dervano are limited to building Gunboat/Frigate sized ships.

I think that Darvano with the Data Arch and they're new non Corinari armies verses Takara with its scientists and Ghatazach would be a though battle to call. Thankfully Darvano has the Aenadalh now.

I am shocked that so little time has passed in book 13. In all I would say two months of time had passed? If so little time passed, we are not very close to getting Tannan fast attack ships..
