Spoilers
Jerome bites it? Did not see that coming.
Jessica kills more people but talks too damn much. Does he go on the Nash body count?
Things seem to be going wrong left and right.
Now to finish reading the last bit.
Yeah, I didn't get any sleep, but I am now on the long wait for 14.
Another great book from Ryk. Couple corrections for the Kindle edition if he cares....

"What is this, 'jump drive'? Minister Abrahms inquired. His tone suggested that, despite the
captain's theatrics, we was not yet full convinced of their sincerity.
Should be he was not yet...

Jessica moved queitly through the water from piling to piling, working her way toward the shore.
Within a few mintues, her feet touched the soft bottom, and she bagan to walk up out of the water.
Still waste deep, she paused,
Should be waist deep....

"He has no knowledge of my true identity, nor my mission here on Earth."
Probably meant for Earth
Location 6557
The Aurora's bridge flashed repeatedly with tinges of red-orange as sixteen plasma shots left the Aurora on their way to the Jung battleship in low Earth orbit directly ahead of them.
Not Earth
Yeah... Jessica Nash kicked ass as we all knew she would. But someone needs to stop her from talking to strangers.
The Jung are bad at surprise parties.
The Yhaban Ghatazach kinda just suck.
And DocG race against Spies N&N for right to say "first"!
Finished the book "Hold on, wait, what?" is right!!!
Holy shit. What a start and and ending. Navarro is a superb commander. If Nash were Spec Ops then she would understand the term Silent Professionals. She is honestly beginning to frustrate me. There is no way she would ever be allowed in the Special Operations community with her current attitude. @Ryk, you should interview a few Green Berets in regards to her role, as her unit most resembles their core tactics of Unconventional Warfare.
Yes Nash need's to retake spec-ops undercover class
Jung Battleship can it do the full technically work up on the jump drive? can it even take the ship on board while in FLT. If it can then As soon as it dose it will FTLcomm that information to as many place as possible. If it cannot and it needs to take the scout ship 2 a Battle plate form then best thing to do is, attach the BP as the BS meets with it.
Bit disappointed Casimir Died but could see it coming and could see Deliza stepping up to lead. hope Navarro takes out the ship yards, As that will then put Takar and Darvano in the same position of not having any ship yards capable of building anything bigger than a Gunship I believe.
I can see the Ybaran legion being a bit of a wild card if the Statement of Casimir's killer is to be believe, would be nice to see that one bit the nobles in the arse.
So Tarrans who find the nanites theories painful have Jung spies/ control nanites in them, go to be interesting to see how that plays out, as it seems both Nash and commander Taylor found them bad, maybe it comes form the Nanites battling in the blood which cause the pain and also removes the Jung nanities, would explain if Nash had them which cause her the pain that she made it thought the CLA screening.
I have one question and a few meh's to the book, The part section 813 to 841 um so confused at the part added in about the wild animal that was all fluffy getting attacked by the birds, then having the hidden troops with Lt. Kellen. Like I'm not sure if i just missed where that whole part came into play later or what.
Some things that were meh to me were
1) Not enough Vlad
2) I'm not usually a fan of child deaths, kind of just hits too close to home when you have little ones
overall was a good book look forward to next episode
I've enjoyed reading your discussions, and have finally created an account.
I'm wondering if the story thread added in the last couple of months was the Jung nannites?
Not happy about losing Scout 3's entire crew, which could also be the added piece.
Now I'm wishing I read more slowly, instead of being ready for #14. :-).
Taylor and Nash do not(had not at the time) have Jung nanites in them because they suffered. Doctor G on Earth noticed that people who were not in pain with the nanites were not healing, and had other nanites in them.
Recap: People from Earth feel pain with Corinarian Nanites unless they have Jung Nanites in them, because the Jung nanites knock out the Corinarian Nanites.
Its hard to tell where the revision was, could be a few things and the more I think about it the less I can pick out as being a late insert.
Maybe i connected the wrong Dots
connecting more dots, the third level of Jung interrogation is Nanitie saturation so, Could this mean if they come up with a way to remove them this could mean the return of Admiral Galiardi.
So, basically, we found our spy. And they are not cooperating with the Jung as it is the nanites (did not see that one coming)
Don't know why they were surprised by the speed of the communication drones. I would have assumed that speed at a minimum.
Jessica was desperate to get intelligence so screwed up big time.
Doctor whats her name and team on Corinari find ways to combat Jung nanites with nanites of their own
Doctor whats her name develops a way to detect Jung nanites
What would happen to the nanites if you set off an EMT?
Limited time to go get that BC and kill it.
They might even be able to find commo drone and kill it too
Daughter about to stand tall. She will need to go back home and kick ass.
And marry that Yanni guy.
Those guys from the moon are every bit as dangerous as the Jung.
Daughter a target of moon guys. They have too much revenge in mind.
I say moon guys cause I can't remember how to spell its name
What do you mean the Jung have not cottoned on to the status of Tanna?
Before leaving system, Daughter urges her own people to stand up to the aristocrats
Ugh, great, great, great, then bam, all of the characters turn stupid and lose all common sense and intelligence. It's like a Steven Segal movie the first 99% and then suddenly turns Rocky the last 1%. As for the Jung Battleship, track it's course and then hit from behind with a comm drone at 100 or 200 times light or put some anti-matter mines in front of it, or find some volunteers from the Ghatazak to park in front of or slam into it with another ship. If the Jung get jump drive this way, I may stop reading this series. It would have been more dramatic for Nathan to just destroy Scout 3 with all hands on board as it was Captain Nash. FRUSTRATED!!!!
I have lost some respect for the Captain Scott character and I don't know if that is really how you want to go with your main character. If he doesn't stop the Jung Battleship I would say replace him as Captain.
So, basically, we found our spy. And they are not cooperating with the Jung as it is the nanites (did not see that one coming)

Not exactly. There must be more spies.
Doctor Galloway (that's what's her name, btw) found that 90% of the Terrans on Earth don't feel pain mduring nanite therapy and that's because the Jung nanites kill of the Corinairan ones. She also found that 10% of the Terrans on the Aurora don't feel nanite pain, and some in varying degrees. The question is whether these varying degrees correlate with the amount of Jung nanites in their system, meaning that people who suffer intermediate levels of pain are infected with Jung nanites, but not yet to an amount that allows the Jung to remote control their bearer.
In any case, there must be numerous more spies on board the Aurora and Celestia. Pretty much every Terran that came aboard after the Jung invasion is a potential risk. If the Jung had agents on the ground for decades, thousands or even millions of people might already be infected with the spybot nanites - all it would have taken was for the agents to become physicians and administer their nanites with things like flu shots or other vaccines.
Seriously, that's the point that has me scared the most at the moment.
Their could be many more people infected with Jung nanites. For the simple fact that Jung spies have been on Earth for a long time and could have easily gotten close to an EDF doctor and injected him with nanites to then infect cadets and even officers who came through for physicals or any other medical treatment.
I think the people that feel pain are the ones that have Jung nanites aren't they. Look at Lt. Cmdr. Nash, the Jung were tracking her after she jumped to Earth with the guy that died because his chute didn't open on purpose. After that she experienced a considerable amount of pain during her treatment.
You know, just when the Earth is getting a break from Jung attacks, its a real nightmare to find out that the attack was on going.
1) How are the Jung nanites controlling people inside ships that have thick hulls and that move around a lot?
2) Electronic counter measures during combat should protect the crew from Jung signals right? Probably need to work on signal management.
3) If they can see through the eyes of the infected, then why would they need to steal a jump drive? Just move some infected toward engineering and wait.
It is probably just me, but I felt a little let down by 13. I have no idea why Ryk would just kill off Sergeant Weatherly with only a few lines after he shadowed and protected Scott through most of the series.
What the heck was the scene with the birds attacking the fuzzy creature? At first I thought an alien species was going to be introduced, but BOOM it’s over.
Letting Nash’s jump drive get captured seemed contrived and made Scott look stupid.
Where was the Falcon to jump between the battleship’s shields to take out the emitter arrays?
What a waste of the Ghatzhak. Bomb first, mop up later, Commander Telles and Admiral Dumas should have been more proactive.
The whole attack against Casimir seemed contrived, killing him off so his daughter could take center stage. Captain Navarro seemed inept against much weaker forces when he should have been near invincible.
Jessica was just a fiasco.
I hope Ryk isn’t getting tired of writing the series and I am looking forward to episode14.
