Tyler, I completely agree with you. I feel like the battle strategies will evolve and be discussed in the next book. We have watched the strategies grow over the last couple of books. I think since there are now 2 explorer class jump ships we will see the tag teaming of enemies. We could see the reformation of the fleet placing Nathan in a command position.

I think he will remain in command of CV-01 but I think Cameron will be in command of CV-02. I think this because those 2 have the most experience, really the only experience in commanding a jump capable ship in a jump battle. Seems to me that they will be the primary ones writing the doctrine on jump warfare in the future. That will probably come in part 3, where we will see a jump fleet. We still don't know what happened to BV-01 and BV-02, so maybe they will come up in the future?

I would like to see some help come from the PC but I don't think that it will arrive in the Sol System at the end of book 11, but I think that they will at least send some and start heading them in that direction. I would also like to see CV-02 be completely repaired and fitted, but that is a far stretch considering that Earth was just occupied by the Jung. Also we still can't forget that the Jung are still on a planet and are probably still operating as spys, and operatives. United Earth will now see the need to expand there military prowess up to and including more ground troops, probably trained by the Coriniari or the Ghatazak. And also increased production on Star Fleet ships, and more development of the Jump Drive, now considering the Jung and most of the Earth knows of its existence.

But we will see

Who knows what is going to happen in the next couple of books, all I can say is that i'm going to be excited reading them. It's been a long wait but I feel it is well worth it.

I would like to start a wiki for the frontiers saga, fan based and fan ran, but of course we need Mr. Ryk Brown's approval to use his stuff.

So I'm just wandering who would be willing to help me create this??

The KKVs were disassembled at the time of the battle with the Jung Battleship.

I'm saying that Nathan's instinct would have been to assemble and use the KKV's as soon as he arrived. I hope Ryk doesn't take this wrong but sometimes writers leave out the obvious to create more drama in their stories. I think it would benefit their stories more if consistency was maintained throughout. One of the reason's I love reading Ryk's writing is his ability to maintain consistency so when something is out of place in his books it really stands out.

Your idea's for the KKV's are perfect. They would definantly give the alliance some stand off attack power. I personally would find a solely Jung occupied planet and fire a couple at it. Once the planet is done I would send a message to the Jung that if they didn't back off their home planet would be next. The KKV's would make excellent planet killers.

Edit= Forgot.. date please?

The things is, I can't imagine any empire in which an entire planet is composed of people who deserve to die. Even the Jung homeworld is likely to have significant innocent civilians. Totalitarian regimes enslave their own people first, then they go looking for others. Maybe a large asteroid military base, far enough from any planets or a shipyard complex. Targeting civilians rarely woks out in your favor (particularly in a fight that you are the underdog in.)

I would love to see a mobile repair base Just like the one the Kazuri had BUT made with a Jump-drive and the thrusters/Engines needed to get it to move. Shielded too. Put a ZPED type jump-drive in one with the Zped heavily shielded so as not to interfere with the Jump-drive.

Yeah, Nuc, it sounds like the Jung “Standing Orders” would prevent most of the local Commanders from following that directive, anyway. They’d be afraid of being shot for showing cowardice.

So how DO you defeat the Jung? If they even got surrender orders they’d quite likely ignore them, thinking them a loyalty test. Do you kill off a strain of the human race to achieve victory? Maybe re-introduce a version of the bio-digital plague with the help of Dubnyk?

In one of the book IDK which one there was a line that said "Jung do not surrender" they would more likely glass a planet than surrender. General Bacca was trying to do that on earth when he fled.

Ryk, Take you time!!! I burned out in a job cause I was working too much. It took me a couple of years to recover. I hope your family is ok now. I know off topic.

Your books are some of the best scifi I have read, I would prefer to see a longer cycle than the quality go into the crapper. You need time off take it!!! I agree go to the areas that you are researching IE:Scotland (for example) take a vacation there. I would prefer Quality over Quantity anytime.

One more thing I read is that there is a treadmill out there that has a way to put a laptop on it while a person works out. Multitask.

Ryk,
I also agree with the taking a break aspects. You rock these books out at a pace that is crazy fast. Granted I love that fact, but while I am many others love that about your work, collectively we dont want you to burn yourself out, suffer physically, mentally or emotionally.

So go take a vacation and do some boots on the ground research, take some time, visit warm water beaches, and so forth. If you have to open a section here on the web for fan fic stuff so you can do a slower pace and we the readers can fill our jonesing needs with the gibberish of each other (like a bunch of school girls).

We will all survive a slower pace from you, but you good sir have to take care of your self as well as your families needs.

Thank you for the great work, the future great work.

I have managed to make some adjustments that will ease the stress somewhat, and we will be taking a vacation in October to visit my daughter on her 21st birthday while she is away on an internship. (It won't interfere with production, however.)

In the meantime, I found a way to sneak some fun in. I'm almost done getting my pilot's license (something I've wanted to do my whole life) and I just bought a plane. (Yeah, the wife's not crazy about that last one.)

Thank you all for making that dream come true for me.
