@rykbrown Are Aiden and his crew Cetian or Terran? I wanted to say they're Cetian, because I don't think cadets from Earth would travel to Tau Ceti for training when it would be easier to construct a training facility locally than to send your cadets to a facility in another star system.
They were Cetians, but with the jump drive and the two planets being within one jump range, it would actually make sense to build a number of these facility to reduce the risk of any all of them being taken out.
I may be reading too much into it, but I feel like with Galiradi and his "Earth First" attitudes we may see a schism in the Alliance in coming books. Earth may end up isolated and alone while the rest of the Alliance shifts to being centered around Tau Ceti. If that does happen, I wonder whether Aiden and his crew will stay loyal to the Alliance or side with Tau Ceti because it's their homeworld. And would a Tau Ceti-led Alliance be more open to assisting Scott and the rebels in the PC.
Right now there are three different Alliances. The Alliance centred in the PC fighting the Dushan.
The Alliance as lead by Gillardi - the space forces.
The Alliance as lead by Scott Senior - the governments.
The only thing they have in common right now is the name Alliance. And that's going to get worse before it gets better.
As to who Aiden and Co follow - once they see what happened in the PC and hear about the dushan false flag mission to Sol, they will likely stick with the PC Alliance with the hope of a reconciliation with the Alliance post Gillard (which given the data arch could be a while)
