I would love to see one of the books in the series written from the perspective of the Jung commander assigned to the Sol System. I think it would be interesting to get their tactical viewpoint as well as their political and sociological mindset.

What do y'all think of that idea?

Nah. A chapter or two at most. I have no patience for oppressors. There are too many of them in RL, I don't want to read their justifications in my free time.

Anyone else wonder if the Jung are disciples of -- or otherwise connected to -- Swiss Psychiatrist Carl Gustov Jung, the father of analytical psychology? Was the Digitial Biological plague a deadly attack on the collective unconscious?

I agree. Although i'd like to note that based on the description of the Jung, they are not only oppressors but parasites. Also RL "oppressors" some times has (or initially had) good justifications..

Was my description of them as 'parasites' too strong or just no one cares about the Jung perspective?

Because from what I recall they are not just conquistadors, their empire entire purpose is enslavement and exploration, regarding the conquered worlds and their population with "corporate" efficiency, seeing them as nothing but resource to be managed to the benefit their home world and empire.

Which is why I think it would be nice to learn more about the Jung perspective, if only to color over the boring ultimate bad guy lines. It can also be done nicely e.g. maybe Nash will finally get the chance to get her spec ops mission on Jung world ...

Have to agree with the others. I don't think I'd enjoy an entire book from the Jung perspective. Maybe a chapter or 2 but not an entire book.

I'd rather not get a whole book on Jung perspective, to be frank.

I like the way Ryk uses individual moments from the Jung Perspective to help tell the story of Frontier Saga.

I would like to see more from the Jung & Others on noticing Jump flashes and the coversations that would begin on other Planets, Ships etc. (the hope and the fear).

I would like planets to stand apart and apposed to Earth for bringing renewed Jung attacks on them due to liberation.

We know Jung Command has a galactic wide plan. If anyone had any motive to track the pre and Plauge colony ships of old it is the Jung. They know of the PC. They know of other systems. They set up Tanna as a staging point for the PC invasion. I think Tanna will see a massive fleet of Jung being forwarded toward PC.

I like to think the Jung would have sent out warships to scout the PC route. I would like some of them to spot Jump flashes between PC and Sol and eventually I would like Jump ships to spot Jung red shifts in that corridor.

It could be cool to see the Jung out there try to double back to check if the Jump ships are tracking them, It could be cool to see whats going on on those ships when they begin to realize how out of there dept they are.

I Like the idea of there to be a big battle light years from anywhere.

I want there to be Jung ships captured out there and that intelligence gathered there could shape the war in Sol and maybe even PC.
I want there to be Jump ships captured and that they are used to get word back to Jung command... and for those ships to self destruct / auto pilot back to Earth with those coordinates only to be blown up before passing them on.

I want more happening in more places. Stressing the hell out of Scott and co.

I like to think what would I do if I were Jung.

On Earth: I would begin sabotage missions, more infiltration missions & more riots to distract from them. I would capture people to brainwash over to the Jung side... I would capture and release others to cause confusion and suspicion. I would use infiltrators to make attacks on Jung forces hit the public too and sow distrust.

In Sol sector: Move everything to make it harder to track every ship, attack Earth from outside the direct line from other planets. space is wide use that.

In PC: ally with non Alliance planets, infiltrate Takar and court the Nobles. I would like the pirate attacks in PC to grow into full fledged Jung attacks, using coordinated strikes to avoid/counter the alliance jump attacks? Cannot wait for the second battle of Takar. That will be epic.

Use space folding weapons & Tactics to counter Jump weaponization development.
πŸ™‚ Missiles using folding space get past flack walls, lasers, shields and rip holes in the hull before losing power and self destructing. Noting hurts a space ship quite like space πŸ˜€

πŸ™‚ The use of one off attack ships to foldwarp into an Alliance warships with some nukes on board.

πŸ™‚ The use of Foldwarp Battle platforms to carry additional warships in its warp bubble outside of its hangers to protect the attacking fleets from jump TOT attacks and waste Alliance Antimatter mines.

Lastly one tactic I have not seen mentioned on the forum so far. What if the Jung decided to Glass all of the Core worlds to avoid the Earth gaining their support.
