1. Captain Parr (the First man from earth to go into FTL) is a Jung spy on his first trip Jung capture him brain washed him and he's providing information to them very since.

2. In the Data Arc in one of the restricted files Deliza decrypts are Concepts and initial design for Quantum Communication devise (instant Communication). She use these to build the first QC, which with the help of her father they make in to a reasonable profitable busy
2a. With QC Coms taken over in the PC the importance of Ta'Kara diminishes has the center coms and relay put. meaning Nobles you don't move with the times lose profits. (with direct coms Ta'Kara Brokers lose out)

3. PC adopts Alliance warships has areas 'Space Navy' with plants retaining ground forces, fighters may some petrol ships (gunboats, frigates) for in system security. Ta'Kara last to Sign (due to prideful on hat Nobles) however when the Noble Captains you control the ships switch to Alliance it forces the rest.

4. Ghatazhak Train Spec-ops to become Alliance form of Seals (Full Ghatazhak don't get trained anymore, although attempts are made by various parties.) and up skills Marines as well.

5. Due to points 2a & 3 some other things might happen.
5a. Enbitted Ta'Karan Nobles defeat to Jung, trying to give them a jump drive. (due to points2a & 3
5b. Civil war in the PC with Nobles trying to reclaim Empire.
5c. Nobles starting colony missions to set up their own culture (gear around them)

6. With the Tactic of ships jumping in firing and jumping away, new ships (Bigger ships) could be built designed to fire sideways as well as forward and aft. (eg old sailing ship broad sides) yes it means presenting a big target to the foe, however it dose mean you don't have to maneuver as much to jump away.

Request all Alliance ships should be built in the styli as the Aurora (Smooth hulled) better it deflate weapons, debris.

Discuss.

1) I know that there were/are Jung Spy's on Earth, but not everyone of importance is a Jung Spy. Although the idea of Brain washing ship captains has been thrown around it would be difficult to brainwash one person on a ship and not have the other members of the crew notice. (whole crew brainwashed on scout ships and those members disbursed to other ships might work.)

2) I would prefer we keep the alliance reliant on Drones for communications, it adds a layer to the story, who knows what + Time delay. With Jump drones assigned to each world of the alliance and PC then Takara isn't a bottleneck comm hub anymore.

3) I expect the Takaran ship captains take Takara's signing onto the Alliance charter as meaning they are Alliance ships and disregard orders from the Nobles to not join the fight. I cannot wait to see what Fighters/ Gunships/ Bombers/ Gunboats/ Corvettes/ Frigates/ Destroyers/ Cruisers/ Battle Cruisers/ Battleships/ Carrier Vessels the PC worlds put together over the next few years.

4) There will always be a place for the Ghatazhak in a universe with people in it. I would continue to create/ keep some in cold storage. All programmed to fight for "The Good of Mankind". But yes, training Troops to work with Ghatazhak tactics/ Under Ghatazhak Teamleaders.

5) The Jung will get a Jump drive again, but I do not see it as being enough with the Alliance destroying all or most Jung shipyards. I see Jung Jump ships being rare, but I would love a Jung Jump Battle Platform. (I see a battle platform being retrofit/ retrofitting other ships with Jump drives being the most likely way to utilize the Jump technology for the Jung)

I see the population of Takara demanding rights similar to what they are seeing from Earth, for elected officials, and Casmir is popular so I see a bright future for him.

I see colony missions taking a secondary seat to the war effort, but sure, jump drones could scout out a few suitable planets.

6) Multiple ships firing Broadsides with even 6 each of the Larger Plasma Cannons firing triples... You sir have made me drool!

We have lasers for point defense, I take it that the reason we don't see bigger lasers is the power they would use... Que ZPED and StarWars DeathStar Lasers for a new faster on site way to kill BP's (broadside plasma cannons and forward facing lasers of death and we have a new favorite ship)

With the Jump drive and the jump in/ jump out fight style, superior power, shields and weapons, the shape of the ship really doesn't matter. I would continue to use armor, and clever sloped hull designs, but more as a precaution against stupidity.

1. For a test Run of the FTL I don't expect a full crew. I would think 3 at most Pilot, co-pilot and engineer. less people to be brainwash. I think it's also odd that he's stilling doing it 30 years on. either he's really dedicated or there is something else keeping in that position, yes the other crew members going off into other sides of the military allows for more spies to be placed.

2. I'm not saying it's going to happen straight away, but it would add another twist or advantage maybe at the point where the Jung do get a jump drive seeing has even with Jump drive you are reliant on light speed coms during a battle, which can mean being out of position or unable to support another ship in time to help where was FTL coms could mean those 1 or 2 seconds of which wins engagements.

2a. As far as I'm area the FTL Drones pretty mush belong to Ta'kara, I expect with Corair becoming the leading manufacture of Civilian jump Craft Jump drones will become on the market, but that relies on individual governments purchasing them. and not relying on Ta'kara's network.

3. I'm not sure the Noble Captains will see them self's part of Alliance, the only reason the EDF Crews and ships are Alliance now is that they government has pretty much been brought down. I can see the Captain of the last Ta'kara Battleship wanting to join the Fight in the SOL sector, and maybe the captains will have to choose if there is a civil war in the PC (Ta'Kara)

4. If they ever do programme a Group of Ghatazhak to do what is good for all man kind, I doubt that many people will be happy of the short term results of that action. evening if there are long term benefits.

5. I cannot seeing earth has the beacon of democracy that the Ta'Kara People hold high as the thing they want most possible the overwhelming demand to support and protect the home world. will make the Nobles do something.

New Point
7. Could the Jump drive be reworked in to some kind of jump gate? Allowing Civilian Passage and Cargo transport between plants this would reduce the amount of ships carrying jump drives which could more easily be captured by Jung.

8. Captain Scott and Admiral Dumar need to have a discussion about how to beat a jump capable ship as some or later the Jung will capture one.

9. Tanner needs to be protected. or at least a jump drone or Falcone positioned there to warn Alliance earth the Jung have returned.

1) For test flights around Sol, partial crew - full contact maintained with Earth. Later inter planetary missions with full crew because it would be necessary for the running of the ship & mission.

2) In the alliance, Darvano has the fabricators and jump / spacecraft technology to build jump drones. Darvano has helped Earth most so far along with the possible exception of Karuzara and Casmir. I would see it as very likely that they would now rival Takara in local jump comm drone activity. I do not see new spacecraft being mass produced just yet, but definitely lots of old craft upgraded with jump drives.

3) I expect that we have only seen the stupid captains so far (not the capital ship captain, but the other idiots who shot first asked questions later) I recon calmer heads among the other captains will jump at the opportunity to excel in the Sol wars. either from deviousness, or honor we will see them in Sol.

4) As apposed to normal Ghatazack? They should never have been made, they should never have been needed, but in an imperfect universe, they are perfectly placed one hit, one kill any problem.

5) Ya that was a long shot, but Takaran Nobles are making the argument for their own disbandment. They are worried about one city when the entire Universe is at stake. I want to see the news broadcasts in Takara doing interviews with the nobles (just before Casmir does one and nails them to the wall with they're own stupidity)

6) I really like the Broadside idea!!!

7) I had a Jump Gate concept which required a jump ship being hit with additional energy prior to jump for longer range jumps to a second gate using ZPED's to attract the jump ship and shields to knock the ship out of jump at the gate. I don't know how to emit fields from a jump drive onto a secondary object but it may be possible in the psudo science of fiction! but two collapsing fields with a burst of power would be hard to project onto a moving target.

8) After the latest battles with the BP's and captured Falcons? Yes all of the Jump/Warp experienced personel will be having a long talk about tactics!!!

9) They have a Jump drone, but only the Falcons are capable of making the journey quick enough to help. It takes the Aurora/Celestia 2/3 jumps to get there. I think we need to upgrade the Aurora/Celestia Jump drives with ZPEDS soon. Who needs antimatter anyway.

I recon that the Forming of the Alliance and the creation of the 20 light year exclusion zone is Part 1.
Part 2 could then be more a battle between the Jung and Alliance for control of all Human worlds as the Jung employ Jump tech right back at the Alliance.
Part 3 could be exploration of the Galaxy and encountering alien races & conflict.
Part 4 could be a break down of the alliance due to the strain of being militarily lead and the war with aliens casting a bad light on that (obviously leading to more wars.)
Part 5 is when I think Scott could lead the Broken remnant of the Alliance against the resurgent Jung forces. (Because Scott travelling back in time to stop the BD Plague read way to strangely... I mean, why would Nathan travel back in time and tell Tug's ancestors to ship out to the PC and take as many other colony's ships with them as possible, creating the "Na-Tan" & "Legend of Origin". Why would he have a copy of a Jump test hidden in the Data arch. Why would he leave a warning in the Data arch to the Earth Leadership of 3400 to prepare for the coming war with the Jung. Never happen.

I have been thinking about my 'wishlist' for the next few episodes.

1) Book 14 will see Nathan and crew heading into Jung territory to chase after the lost scout ship. Nanites are still a problem, but they've found a way to block their communication to the Jung as long as you're within an allied ships hold or wearing a blocking device. During this time they have to liberate a world to get intel on where the Jung territories are, and in doing so gain a small allied world and maybe a barebones battle platform(it only has basic systems installed, no Jung tech beyond life support, power, and propulsion. No computers) that were being constructed in dock. They install Takaran systems on board the platform to get things moving, and move deeper into Jung territory and begin full scale fabrication using the Jung fabricators on board to outfit the battle platform with all their latest tech.
2) Book 15 will see them breach the inner layers of Jung space and begin to hammer away at their defenses, trying to get to the scout before the Jung are able to get their scientists on it. All out brawl. In the end the Aurora is battered worse than ever before, dead in space, and Nathan orders everyone to escape pods. In the last possible moment the captured and now allied Jung ships, having finished upgrading to jump drives, arrive in a super brilliant white flash blinding all the Jung sensors and get away with the Aurora and the other allied ships in their holds. However, the jump systems weren't 100% completed and the nose of the Aurora is left behind as it extended beyond the jump field. Unforunately, the nose contains the bridge, where Nathan was preparing to initiate the self destruct. In the first cliff hanger of the series, Nathan is captured and alone.

I like the Behind enemy lines aspect of it!!! It makes sense to send the Aurora with the new Jump Attackships on the way and the Celestia almost repaired. I think that Nathan is a quickly improving Captain and no better man/woman to lead the charge out into the unknown of Jung occupied space. Cam would take it well, being left in Sol/the 20 Light year bubble, She seems more suited to a dogged defense at home then a wild ride into the unknown. In fact I would definitely prefer to have her at my back then Nathan.

So I just finished my re-read of #13 (good timing!) and was thinking about my theory. I would like to see Cameron lead the Celestia into Jung territory instead, and we'd see Nathan going back into the Pentarus Cluster and dismantling the noble society in response to the assassination of a leader of one of the Alliance worlds (Karuzara).

I think you'll see Tau Ceti's population jumpnin and assist. The Jung shipyards will be taken in tack and start pumping out jump ships in the medium size to back up the new attack jump ships. I also see a squadron of the attack jump ships going back to the cluster to assist. There will be a chase and battle for the scout ship and battle ship with Nash being recovered.

The scout escapes much like the fury critter in that one part that made no sense at the time.
