During the liberation of Beta Hydri, the Chief Security Officer of Nifelm stated that bodies can be replaced and souls can be transferred. They wanted the Alliance to attack the Jung quickly.
Nothing is ever said further about this, and nothing is ever mentioned about Nifelm joining the Alliance. I am about halfway into "Escalation" (Part II, Episode 1); is this going to be addressed sometime?

Hehe, the two scientists working for Deliza's little cloning project are said to be from Nifelm... And that one of their clones is ready to receive its memories. 😀
