Ryk,
I'm 72 and have been reading sci-fi for over 60 years. My favorite authors start with Doc EE Smith and go through Heinlein, Arthur Clarke, Harry Harrison and so many more. You are on my list of the best and the most enjoyable to read.
I bought a Kindle because so many of my old sci-fi pocket books were falling apart and were unreadable and I wanted to find computer versions and read them over again. I tend to "speed" through a book, picking up enough of a story to finish it in a short time. It leaves some gaps in the characters and in the story. It's just part of how I grew up. Then I found the Frontiers Saga.
What I enjoy the most about the Frontiers Saga is that your characters develop and grow with each book. Waiting for the next book has forced me to go back and reread the earlier books and develop a deeper understanding of your characters and the story line. Thanks. I particularly enjoy the development of the LT. Telles character and that Cameron is finally beginning to understand that not everything can be fixed with rules and regulations. Sometimes life calls on a person to take an educated guess, a chance or to try something that's out of the ordinary.
You can add me to the list of people who believe that it doesn't matter when the next book comes out, if your health or your family's happiness suffers because you're rushing to meet a deadline. Take your time and give us another great book.
Thanks again,
Rich
I also am an older reader (64) and have been reading SF since I was 7. I read about 4 to 6 books a week right now. All the same authors as above but I am a huge David Weber fan, both HH and Safehold are 2 of my favorites. I read Rick's first 6 books (I think episodes, throws people off in Amazon are 73 pages) and got sidetracked to z and AH books for a while, so I just read 1-13 this week, series just keeps getting better all the time, great tech, people and excitement (real tension filled sometimes). Keep it up!
Hmm. I am 51 and also was raised on the classics. I hope this doesn't cover Ryk's core demographic, though. I'd like to think he also appeals to the younger readers...
28 & really enjoy reading these books!
54 Years young and I have been reading scifi since I was a teenager. I with Asimov's Foundation series (my jump into scifi) before that I would read alot of western's. I started heavy reading when I was about 8 year old (western's).
There is a series out by T. I. Wade. His series is REALLY GREAT!!!. it is called America One there are 7 books in this series.
On his Facebook Page he mentions how he hopes to get it setup as a T.V. series (man I really hope this happens his books are that good.)
I have been using a Kindle for several years now. I first had the Kindle Keyboard, man I loved that one. I am on my second kindle a kindlepaper white (the first gen model). It is true about what people are saying the light does not completely shut off. I have mine dimmed to conserve power. They now have a new one called Kindle Voyage it's an updated version of the Paperwhite. Idk if it's any good.

The Topic says "Great Books". Well here is a great book.
"S" by J. J. Abrams (Creator), Doug Dorst (Author)
If you enjoyed "LOST" and the challenges that that show brought to your mind, then "S" will get you going.
Not SciFi, just a book that will blow your mind.
I'm 51 and a veteran SF reader, too. Ryk, your Frontier's Saga is one of the best works I've ever read. Keep up the good work, and I'm pretty sure it will be here to stay. Up to now, I can't help but devour every new episode you publish. Looking forward to #14.
