Through out the books Ryk Brown has walked the line with the crew becoming romantically involved. Do you think Nathan and Nash will end up together? Who else do you think would make an interesting couple?

We just finished book 10 of 15 for this cycle, right? That leaves 5 books to go, so Nathan's love interest will show up in book 13 and their love will flower in book 15, after they share some tough times together in book 14. That is my cynical prediction. 🙂

She will have lost her husband and maybe Vlad will help her find her child, sealing her view of him being a chauvinist but, caring man.
As for Nash... she tends to think of sex like a man does... hence the fling with Nathan in book one. So it will be harder for her to find someone...

The Star Trek fan in me thinks... NO WAY!!! She has access to his med file & phyc file.... not sure that Nathan would do that. Nathan always seems to be trying to put up a good front as the ships captain. I don't think he would do anything with actual EDF personnel. But the crew from the PC he may think about getting involved with.

I think you right overall. However, I wonder if it's more accurate to say that Nathan probably wouldn't do anything with a direct subordinate. So Nathan will probably look outside of his chain of command.
The idea of Nathan being with a high ranking Jung would make some sense, at least near the end of the Jung arc.
I had a crazy thought what if say cam is promoted to captain. And her and Nathan got together. Again playing on the fact they would be equal ranks.

Nathan and Synda? That may be a train wreck. Nathan, Nash and an intel specialist are holding the secret that her friend Tony was a Jung spy and basically killed him for it with no trial. He was a spy and according to today's Geneva Conventions agreement spies can be executed (without trial) during war if caught. I'm not sure that Synda would take it very well if she is told that Tony died on the mission with Nash, but then finds out otherwise after starting a possible relationship with Nathan. Like I said... TRAIN WRECK! 😉
If Cam is a Captain, then Nathan is a Commodore (One star). Because she reports to him, they will never be equals. Only possibility there is if a senior chain of command is re-established over Nathan, such as Admiral Gallardi. Still not sure what shape Gallardi is in, though. Plus, I doubt Gallardi or anyone else will step in over Nathan. He is clearly meant to guide humanity through this whole crisis, until the Jung surrender to Earth!
Synda DOES meet the requirement that she be from outside Nathan's chain of command. Dr. Chen would probably be ok because medical is so separate from the normal ship activities, but I don't see that spark there.
Cam and the Lt. Cmdr Kovacek seem ideal for ordering the build out of the Celestia. They will work together a lot, so there will be some sort of bond as they work together. I just don't think Cam would allow anything to ignite, since he reports to her.
If Yanni starts getting close to Deliza, and Loki hears about it, there could be some heat in the ranks... 🙂
Not sure who else might hook up, but it seems bound to happen.
I wonder if we'll get a large number of people added to the cast from Earth? They may not have as many people as they had a few months ago, but they still have plenty of former military and construction engineers alive, to fill up the ships. Surface military ship captains, sub commanders, infantry leaders, as well as staff and crew from the former EDF bases that escaped the Jung. Hundreds if not thousands of good candidates to fill out the staff on all three ships. Redistribute the experienced staff even more to teach the new folks how to do things.
No matter how bad the devastation in Perth and other Earth cities, there are still bound to be lots of good candidates to join the Alliance fleet. Plus, there is Tanna to add.
at this point i just ask for it to happen i dont care if nathan endsup waking up with a terrible headache in his room and see a naked vlad at his side. Its just been to much story without romance.
I suppose there's some fun to be had with the speculation of who might hookup with who but honestly I like the lack of romance in Ryk's writing. I think Nathan and Jessica having been together at the Founders Day party to be lacking in detail about the whole 30 minutes they spent together and I like it that way. There was just enough info to say yeah we had our romp but no torrid love scenes. Seriously who doesn't know what happened?.?. As far as the story line goes... for any character who interacts or just observes the two of them to say to themselves "Yeah these two have a history." it's like the bond you share with a really close friend where a word or a phrase has a different meaning between you and them. And you're in on the seceret, how cool is that? I think that was Ryk's intent with giving them a 'history' together.
Besides my money is on Vald and Cam hooking up. After all, the two of them will have spent at least 2 weeks cooped up in the Celestia when book 11 gets to us.
