So.. i have been reading a lot of sci-fi lately, and i found books about a single person rising civilization with their company or country or technology, some of these books are
Ivan Kal - Rise of the Empire Series
John Ringo - Troy Rising Series
Chris Hetchl - All books
TI Wade - America One
Is there a Genre for this? and do you know other books like these ones (Solar clipper does not count)
Troy Rising is in part, Military SF. Don't know a sub Genre for it.
I'm not aware of a specific name for it. However, it is a somewhat common theme. I'm more of a fan of the sci-fi variation, but you also see that theme in books where civilization has collapsed or simply fallen in tech level. So there are versions where the tech level of a civilization is either being restored to some tech level (generally after some disaster) or raised to a new tech level (generally after some tech discovery). Although the later happens to some degree in a lot of military sci-fi books, as new technologies are developed over the course of the book. However, it seems like for the genre, that should be more-less the focus on the story.
A few more books in that genre(s) (found via browsing my kindle):
Technological Restoration:
Charles Lamb's ALICE Series
Stephen W Bennett's Koban Series [First a restoration in the area of genetics, then a rise]
Technological Rise:
David Buck's Carinae Sector series [Though author seems inactive now, and the series hasn't ended, so sad]
Ken Pence's Trade World Saga [Seemed similar to Troy rising, I need to re-read this again as it's been 2-3 years and I don't recall much of anything about it now]
I think it may be military space opera. Check out "The Ship" (new frontiers series) by Jack L Knapp
