As I'm sure the same is with many of you, I fucking love science and space. As such, I frequent a few blogs about Astrophysics and the like, one of which is Bad Astronomy.
Recently Phil Plait posted a link to a short film about viewing through a telescope that can travel at FTL speeds. This instantly reminded me of, in my personal opinion, one of the most striking visuals/moments in the Frontiers Saga; when the crew views their own explosion from a distances of a few light months.
If you enjoyed that scene I think you will also enjoy this film (it's only a few minutes long)

Here is Phil Plait's article talking about the science of FTL and this video, of course he cracks on how impossible it is but he also toys with how nice the idea is.

Kind of a cool video. I like the sets, they looked modern enough to be believable, but old enough that they looked kind of like 1970 "Silent Running".

Looks good, although the passing light effect is a bit excessive, way way way too dense.

Speaking of, do we know when FTL drives were first invented in the frontiers saga universe i.e. How much more "modern" they were than us?
