Current tech has various police and military using "flash Bang" grenades which overwhelms the senses of site and hearing. Something along those lines for our merry band could use is that and something like a "glue bomb" or possibly a "glue mine". A canister with a delayed charge surrounded by a glue like substance to incapacitate with non-lethal force. This could also be used with friendly civilians in the area. BOOM! Hit with the glue, you are combat ineffective. Friendly force comes in and captures area and personnel. This can also be scaled up for use on equipment so as to capture instead of destroy. Perfect to use to equip a guerrilla/rebel force on occupied planet. Attach IFF (Identify Friend/Foe) gear to captured equipment.

I'm thinking that they could find something like this in the Data Ark computer cores. With a weapon like this in Nathan and crew's arsenal, They could capture a LOT of Jung equipment for their own use.

Anybody got anything like this in mind?

Hmm. The mention of the Data Arc cores brings up all kinds of things they could find there. It doesn't make them unbeatable, but it certainly gives them a solid edge.

As to non-lethal stuff... Well the US Military is spending quite heavily right now on several non-lethals. Mostly sonic projection that stuns or incapacitates the victim. Low and high frequency sound projection stuff.

Maybe something that causes skin to slough off and leave the victim totally incapacitated. That would be disgusting, but...

Yeah, I remember a documentary a while back the was dealing with focused sound projection. If you were 3-4 feet away from the focused area of the sound projection you would barely hear it. (wiki here---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Range_Acoustic_Device or here---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_weapon)

Also, saw another dealing with focused heat projection using microwaves. You can feel intense heat from no where (check here---> http://phys.org/news/2012-03-military-unveils-non-lethal-ray-weapon.html)...

Speaking of Sonic Weapons, maybe they could play Wagner while coming in for an aerial troop assault... Air Cav, man! 😉

The warship that attacked Corinari and the Aurora in book 3 or 4 had that force field tuned to energy weapons. If that technology can be made even semi mobile (or placed at a fixed point for a trap maybe?) it would give the Terrans and allies a temporary advantage in ground operations. At least until the Jung figure out what's going on anyway and switch to projectiles.
