One thing has bothered me. Every time the aurora jumps, they need to move the ship to target after the jump.
In space, if you are traveling in a direction, you can pitch, roll or point anyway you want without changing your direction. Only if you supply thrust can you alter your trajectory. So why not line up your shot before jumping?

Actually, the Aurora has done that numerous times. They have been traveling a straight line for most of their jumps. It was only in the very beginning, when they were jumping in quite close to overcome shields with conventional (nuclear warhead) torpedoes that they were turning to get a clear jump line. When they switched to energy weapons, their attacks have always been straight lines of travel past the target(s), changing attitude as needed (without altering their flight path) in order to put plasma torpedoes on target.

So, they have been doing precisely what you are describing.
